“The Word” is free Bible software that allows you to alter the interface, indexes, windows and preferences of it down to the minor details. You can also take notes and make highlights with it. The software is completely free and runs quickly and easily.
Load “The Word” onto a USB flash drive to take with you and download add-on modules for free. The software comes with four versions of the text, but you can download more, if desired.
On their website, they note that there are, “No catches, no ads, no nags, no registration, not even your e-mail to download.”
