Life is funny. We need to eat right, but the foods that taste the best seem to be the most unhealthy. We can make the healthier foods taste good, but many of us don’t know how. We want everything fast and satisfying, so we’ve turned to processed foods that only require you to add water and zap it in the microwave.

We also need to exercise to stay in good health, but if we do too much, it can be damaging to our joints and muscles. We can wear ourselves out. If we do too little, it can be damaging to our hearts and organs. We become overweight.

Life is such a balancing act. Many of us try hard to stay in that comfortable middle area, but it’s just not attainable forever. We aren’t meant to always be content. God expects a lot from us and we already know that we can’t learn and grow without some of the tough experiences. We can only have “the perfect life” for so long before we’re thrown a curve ball.

What’s strange is that most people have heard about the Word of God, but so many turn their backs to it. More than that, many question why a God who can see the future would create us with free will and sit back and watch as we tear His world apart. What’s important to remember is that God knows what He’s doing. He has planned every minor detail of our lives, our bodies, the way we function, and so on. We wouldn’t need to be here if there was no need for a savior. Our sins require us to look to God for salvation.

“Jesus told them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but He sent me. Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me! For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. So when I tell the truth, you just naturally don’t believe me! Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me? Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”” -John 8:42-47
