“When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” –Mark 10:14-15
I love these two verses because of both the simplicity and the complexity of each of them. We all know how children view things. There’s an honesty and an innocence to their thoughts and words. They accept (most) things that they are told and they act as sponges soaking up everything they can. They don’t have the responsibilities, fears, or demands that come with being an adult. They understand that they are not in complete control and that they need guidance for the choices they make.
To have the faith of a Christian, God requires that we treat the kingdom of God as a child would.
What does these two verses mean to you? How do you view the kingdom of God?
