Ellie Holcomb in Concert

The daughter of legendary music producer Brown Bannister, singer-songwriter Ellie Holcomb (a Nashville native) began her musical career by touring the country with her husband and his band, Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors. After several years on the road Ellie debuted a full-length solo album, As Sure As the Sun, which charted at #1 on iTunes Christian music and helped deem Holcomb the “Best New Artist” at the 2014 Dove Awards.

Then after walking an unexpected path of suffering and loss, Holcomb wrote and recorded the album Red Sea Road (Full Heart Music) which released in January 2017. Ellie is trying to say in the title song “Red Sea Road” that during trying times, just like the Israelites experienced with the Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptians behind them, our temptation is to throw up our hands in despair. “What I see in all this,” she explains, “is that God is drawing near and making a way for us to carry on when we feel like we cannot carry on any longer.”

Several of you requested Ellie Holcomb for our worship leader at ISC, and we are delighted she is joining us in 2018.

We’ll be featuring the award-winning music of Ellie Holcomb on Fridays for the next few weeks on the Shelby Blog.

You will be blessed by her voice and her heart.

Worship with Ellie Holcomb on Thursday morning (June 7) at 8:30 am in Memphis.
