Today’s spotlight shines on Shelby Systems’ Giving Customer Success Specialist: Leeann Buttram.
Leeann provides resources and support to help make Shelby’s online giving feature run as smoothly as possible. The Giving Implementation Guide, that Leeann helped to create, provides a mix of project management tools for planning, technical how-to’s for system set-up, and editable communication pieces that churches can use (to share information) with their congregation. As a part of the success process, Leeann encourages ministries to take advantage of a Giving Success Call. This is a one hour call where Leeann walks through the Giving Portal set-up and communication strategies that your church may wish to implement. Leeann also reaches out to customers after they have received their first gift to assist during the initial reconciliation process (Membership and Financials). Leeann is here from set-up to the first gift to answer any questions you may have and to support your ministry. Your successful online giving launch is Leeann’s top priority.
Let’s get to know: LEEANN BUTTRAM
Hi – my name is Leeann Buttram, and I’ve lived in the greater Memphis area since 2005 with my husband of 16 years, William Buttram. Our parents and siblings are scattered from WV to AZ and FL to IN.
I was in church nine months before I was born…and haven’t left. Faith is woven into who I am. I am so grateful for parents who lived the Gospel daily for me to see. Church and faith are messy pursuits, but I cannot imagine my life without either. I love the Word of God and being able to share its life with others, especially young people.
I graduated from Lee University with a BA in Human Development and minors in Social Work & Bible
I began working for the YMCA during my college summers – They paid me to play kickball and go to the Reds’ baseball games and all I had to do was not lose a kid! I continued in a career with the YMCA, working in four different states and three associations. Most recently I spent 11 years in leadership with the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South in System Admin (Database management), IT, Marketing and HR – the proverbial non-profit any hat they hand you, you learn to wear.
My “other” job is serving beside my husband in ministry. We pastor a small church in the suburbs of Memphis where we have opened our building for five other congregations to use, as well.
Being able to use my experience in technology and member management systems to support churches seemed like an ideal fit. To help churches make giving easily accessible to their members in an age of digital commerce is time well spent.
I have the privilege to walk churches through setting up their Giving Portal and determining how they want to communicate this opportunity to their churches. Technology can be intimidating, so being the voice of encouragement on the other end of the phone that can instill confidence in our customers makes my day.
I feel like I am still on the steep hill of the learning curve. Each day holds something new.
I love reading, writing, biking and traveling. The most unique place I’ve travelled is Cambodia (pictured below), to spend time with friends who were serving in humanitarian and missionary work there.
The next big destination (TBD) is Nairobi, Kenya to see friends who are running a Christian Residential Camp.
My name is Leeann Buttram, and I am a Shelby Systems Team member.
