This is the first in a series of Employee Spotlight Profiles that we will feature on the Shelby Blog each month. These posts are designed to help you to get to know the people who work with Shelby Systems and are passionate about helping your ministry to thrive and grow. Kristin Moore is Shelby’s newest team member and serves in the Support department. Kristin is still in training, but she will be on the phones soon to assist you with her friendly and helpful voice.
Let’s get to know: KRISTIN MOORE
Hi – my name is Kristin Moore, and February 11th was my first day at Shelby Systems. I moved down from Wisconsin to Memphis in June with my best friend from high school. Currently, our Memphis family consists of the two of us, two cats, two turtles, and one bird (Tiki).
I grew up in the Nazarene Church and accepted Jesus as a young person. Since then, I have been seeking to grow in Christ and be a light to those who have lost hope. I owe much of my spiritual growth to my time spent at Indiana Wesleyan University, where I graduated with a major in psychology and minors in both biology and honors humanities (I love to learn)!
During my time in college, I also spent a semester in Lithuania where I had the opportunity to explore Eastern Europe. I hope to return one day.
Over the last eight months, I worked for Youth Villages at the Girls Center for Intensive Residential Treatment as a Behavioral Youth Counselor. While I loved pouring into my girls, it was time for change, and here I am at Shelby Systems!
What appealed to me about Shelby Systems and Ministry Brands is their mission to serve people and Christ through software. Churches and non-profits do not function well without the products and support that Shelby Systems offers, and I am hoping to add to that as a Software Support Technician. However, I have a lot to learn! These next few weeks I look forward to discovering the ins and outs of the software, but also getting to know those I am working alongside.
Some of my hobbies/interests include reading, hiking, tennis, kickboxing, traveling, trying new things, and anything to do with animals.
