Do you ever pray for this? Do you ever worry what God might end up showing you?
Yesterday, I did. I thought about following it up with, “but please don’t punish me too much. I don’t want to get hurt or lose someone close to me or anything.”
It sounds funny, but I honestly thought, “Wow, if I ask God to reveal all of my sins to me (consequences included), it’s not going to be any kind of fun.
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” (Galatians 6:7)
On the other hand, God is the most merciful and loving being in existence, so the consequences that we might face will be well thought out. We don’t deserve the mercy He shows us in the first place, so to say that His punishment for us would be deserved is an understatement.
Now, I’m not at all saying that becoming a paraplegic or a victim of cancer is deserved, but I think it means that God has a different plan for you. Our punishments and our worst experiences in life don’t necessarily go hand-in-hand. Whether it is God teaching you something or Him using you to change someone else’s life, it is all part of His plan. There is always something that He is doing in our lives.
How do you feel about the message in Galatians 6:7?
